For those city dwellers that reside in compact apartments enclosed within thin walls, floors, and ceilings\u2014let alone single glazed windows\u2014drowning-out the erratic clamor of boisterous neighbors or ear-piercing sirens can be difficult. Even after years of living in such an environment, one might still find it hard to get used to these conditions. Of course, not being exposed to the constant humdrum of traffic or shouts of late-night revelers in the street below, when in the deafening silence of the countryside perhaps, can also make repose challenging. It comes down to consistency and habit.<\/p>\n

To ensure they get the rest necessary to keep up with the pace and expected performance of these especially demanding urban centers, many choose to hook-up white noise machines, install acoustic paneling, or simply wear earphones throughout the night\u2014piping-in whatever music or soundscapes lets them easily fall-into a slumberous rhythm. The problem, however, is that most available devices in this category are configured with style over substance in mind. Albeit sleek, even corporeal, earbuds and headsets remain cumbersome, protruding from one\u2019s head. Though pronounced\u2014even geometric\u2014these ultimately infinitesimal objects can still be slippery, hard to handle, and easily lost.<\/p>\n

When certain \u201cpods\u201d from a certain major tech brand are in, it\u2019s hard for one to rest their head in any other direction than toward the back. They poke back in towards the skin and cause pain. Openhagen’s<\/strong><\/a> just-released SleePod<\/strong><\/a> is different. The especially slender design completely embeds within one\u2019s ear without becoming dangerous, too small to get stuck. Ironically, the paired devices are easy to handle and don\u2019t fall out of one\u2019s fingers when being removed. SleepPod was meticulously shaped to hug the tragus and incisura (ear opening) while anchoring along the choncha ridge just above.<\/p>\n

This game-changing product isn\u2019t just about form. Its modality\u2014functions\u2014are also comprehensively calibrated for optimal sleep. These integrated technologies center on providing passive isolation. A hybrid ANC complements the egg-shaped form\u2019s near-perfect noise-canceling seal, allowing for an undisturbed night\u2019s rest\u2014uninterrupted by the sharp crackles of an upstairs neighbor’s thunderous footsteps or a truck\u2019s horn. The moulded objects are also 2.5grams\u2014making them feel weightless and guaranteeing they don\u2019t cause any unnecessary pain.<\/p>\n
