Music is synonymous with the human experience, one of the many facets of civilization that brought our ancestors together. As simultaneously mundane and divine as food or shelter, music is essential to carrying on cultural identity, shaping our world at large. If you’ve ever learned a piece of music with others, or joined in a chorus, a magic takes shape: the voices themselves coalesce into the symphony, joining a larger narrative. The new Harmoni<\/strong><\/a> by Danish brand Openhagen<\/strong><\/a> aims to bring more tranquility and balance to our lives, creating a guitar with a quality and ease of use that holds up to even the most seasoned player.<\/p>\n

\"A<\/a><\/p>\n

Harmoni’s solid mahogany body is hand-tuned by expert Danish luthiers, who are trained in the art of forming tone. A rosewood fretboard and D\u2019Addario strings deliver crisp attack and smooth sustain, creating a warm contrast to the mahogany.<\/p>\n

From the largest pieces of offcuts, a slim but substantial guitar stand emerges, forming an almost trompe l’oeil vase when not in use. A Nordic horse, carved from the leftover pieces from fashioning the neck, take new life as an included capo, giving the fingers a bit of a rest. From the cutout of the center, a coaster takes new life, bringing a touch of the guitar outside the body, allowing an extension of play. These three products give new life to remnants, prompting us all to rethink the way we discard.<\/p>\n

Since the stand is included, Harmoni is always at an arm’s reach, always handy for a quick jam sesh, or just some light noodling. The stand is magnetic, with small magnets inset on the inside of the guitar, for seamless transition between standing and playing. There is something quite powerful about being able to grab the exact tool for the job, and sometimes, this translates into a simple melody on a winter’s day.<\/p>\n
